Hey Pat,
I am impressed by your sketches. I would really be interested in seeing you incorporate some of the drawings in an animation or a movie. But I must say that slicing a vulnerable nude woman in half is disturbing. Just in time for Valentines Day!?!
Anyway, I hope that you continue to explore artistic horizons but if your going to portray extreme violence, I need a strong plot to justify it. (Blade Runner or Little Big Man come to mind)
I have a short film “Perils of Nude Modeling” that I think you’d enjoy. I’ll bring it by sometime. It’s one of those shorts where I think - “Damn I wish I had done that…”

Your comment and the drawing of the severed nude brought up a good discussion over dinner about violence, gender equality, and art.
My original sketch of the model was too tall so I lopped off the top half with the lasso tool in my drawing program. With two halves of a body sitting there on my tablet, I decided to use the remaining minute of sketch time to tie them back together again with blood and guts.
This particular piece came about during a timed drawing session and was nothing more than a practice sketch so you will probably not find that a great deal of thought was put into a message or a theme. Nor do I feel that sketches require plots or themes. I try to use life drawing class as a time to practice and explore so a little blood, an occasional cartoon turtle, and a whole bunch of nudity will probably continue to inhabit the sketches I post from those sessions.
